Profile of Bishop Mark Smith

 Pastor Mark Smith accepted Christ at the age of 17, and after finishing high school. He became the youth pastor of the Holy Temple Church. Many youth were saved under his ministry. In the year of 1988, his Pastor & Father James Smith appointed him as Assistant Pastor. He served in that role until the death of his father in August 2000 he was appointed Pastor of the church the same year. Under his leadership the church continues to grow. In December 1988 the Lord gave him the vision to organize Y.Y.A.F.A. The organization provides 17 Innovative alternative programs, which transforms youth into productive adults, in spite of many social ills of day. The feeding program he started has served over 400,000 free Lunches and over 100,000 Breakfast meals. Youth maintaining passing grades are taken on educational and life changing trips, trips that have included the Bahamas and Canada. Many have enrolled in college and are now enjoying successful careers through the career development program. Through his hard work Hundreds of youth stayed off drugs, in school, out of gangs and prison. March of 1999 under his leadership a 25,000 sq. ft. Community youth center was constructed in Silsbee, Texas. The center services over 500 youth in the Southeast Texas Region annually. Bishop Mark Smith has served the community faithfully for over 30 years.
